From time to time, people ask me "Al, how do you do it...how are you always so energetic and enthusiastic?"
Well, the simple answer is that I've made my life...my life. For me, that means focusing on the positive vs. wallowing in the negative. For me, that means staying true to my grand vision for myself and a set of well-entrenched values.
Now, in a world where the media is blasting everything that's wrong; in an economy that is troubling; in an environment full of obstacles; staying positive isn't always easy. And that's especially true for those of us with analytical minds. I get a downer from time to time, just like everyone else. But when I'm feeling low, I know that it's up to me to live "lights on." No one else and nothing else is cause for how I feel. It's up to me. I control the switch.
Cleinman Performance Partners' associates Cathy and Gary Hawk of Clarity International, who actually coined the phrase "Lights On Living," have produced a series of mini-training videos that I think you'll find very enlightening. Al, Thank you so much for posting this. Gary and Cathy Hawk have changed my life and outlook on it completely. Their "lights on living" methods are truly phenomenal and force you to turn the mirror on yourself...a tough thing to do but with incredible payback.
